Charlotte Pass is a premier alpine destination in Australia, offering skiing, hiking, and stunning natural vistas in a pristine mountain setting. It is Australia’s highest and oldest snow resort located in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, within Kosciuszko National Park. The village sits at an elevation of about 1,760 meters (5,758 feet) and is known for being snowbound during the winter season. Charlotte Pass is situated near Kangaroo Ridge and is the closest village to Mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mountain. It is the coldest location in Australia, with record lows reaching -23.0 °C and regular winter temperatures below -10 °C. The climb from Jindabyne to Charlotte Pass is renowned as one of Australia’s highest and longest continuous road ascents, starting at 910m and finishing at 1,841m over a 42km route.
